UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., - After an impressive comeback on day one of the Big Ten Men's Golf Championships, Ohio State sits atop the leader board in first place at 11-over par while the Nittany Lions are seven strokes back in fifth at six-over. Ranked sixth in the Big Ten entering the weekend, Ohio State jumped from fourth place to first place with a strong second-round effort. Illinois sits in second after a solid second round comeback.

Penn State concluded the first round tied for fifth with Northwestern and Iowa. The trio finished at six-over par (290), heading into the second round. Penn State concluded the day tied for sixth with Northwestern with a 12-over par second round. Both teams totaled a 586, just seven strokes shy of the first place Buckeyes, who are playing with extra incentive during the championships in what will be legendary head coach Jim Brown's final championship after 36 seasons at Ohio State.

Eric Chun of Northwestern leads the field with a one-stroke cushion over Michigan State's Jack Newman. Chun finished the day at four-under par (138) while Newman finished at three-under par (139).

Juniors Jim Markovitz (Bridgeville, Pa) and Kevin Foley (Sommerville, N.J.) finished the day tied for seventh at one-over par, trailing the leaders by five strokes. Foley and Markovitz shot rounds of 73-70 (143) to jump 18 spots between rounds one and two.

Penn State's only senior starter, Chad Bricker (Waynesboro, Pa.), led the Nittany Lions in the first round at even par (71), tying for sixth place. Bricker concluded the day tied for 35th at eight-over par. Junior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) sits at 10-over par after the conclusion of play. Freshmen Nick Archambault (Q.C., Canada) finished the first round tied in 47th at six-over par (77). Archambault finished the day tied for 49th at 12-over par.
