Nittany Lions Finish Second Day at Lady Paladin Invitational

After two rounds of the Lady Paladin Invitational, the Nittany Lions are currently sitting in 12th place out of 17 teams competing. The team put together a second round score of 322 to give them a 638 after the first two days at the tournament hosted by Furman University.

Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) continued to lead the women's golf team. She is currently tied for 20th place after the second round with scores of 75-81 (156). Junior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) is tied for 35th place and holds the second best score on the team with rounds of 79-80 (159).

Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fl.) followed close behind with a mark of 160 after her first two round scores of 81-79 and is currently in a tie for 44th place. Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia), Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Ill.) and Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) rounded out the field for the Nittany Lions with Lavin competing as an individual.

Nova Southeastern University took sole possession of first place after a second round score of 305, giving them a total of 611 after the first two days. They are currently four strokes ahead of Campbell University, who came in with a two-round score of 615.

The third and final round will take place tomorrow at the Furman University Golf Course, with play starting at 9 a.m.
