The Penn State women's golf team finished the Lady Paladin Invitational in 12th place after the final round was cut short due to rain, causing the course to become unplayable. The tournament, hosted by Furman University, used the results through two rounds as their final scores.
The Nittany Lions finished with their two round score of 638. Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) used her first ever start to finish with a team best 156 in two rounds. Her first round 75 was also a team best for a single round. Junior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) put together rounds of 79-80 (159) and a tie for 35th place.
Nova Southeastern University was named the tournament champion after finishing in first place after the first two days. They put together scores of 306-305 (611).
The women's golf team will have one week to prepare for the Lady Northern, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The tournament will take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 26, 27 and 28.
