The women's golf team ended their fall season with a fourth place finish at the Spider Invitational. Penn State put together scores of 318-297 (615) putting them 13 strokes behind the tournament champion University of Maryland, who recorded a 602 in two rounds.

Senior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) led the Nittany Lions with rounds of 77-75 (152) giving her a tie for 10th place. Freshman Sky Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) followed close behind with marks of 80-73 (153) leaving her in a tie for 12th after the 36 hole tournament. Seo's second round score of 73 was her career best in her young Nittany Lion career. Junior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) followed Seo, recording a two round score of 155 and a tie for 19th place.

Freshman Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Ill.) put together a score of 156 in two rounds, while freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) rounded out the Nittany Lions with a 157. Junior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) competed as an individual for Penn State.

The women's golf team will return to action in February for the Lady Puerto Rico Classic hosted by Purdue. This tournament will take place on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, February 7, 8 and 9.
