UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team will travel to Old Dominion for the ITA Regional Championships, which will be held Thursday to Sunday. The tournament will consist of a singles draw with a field of 128 and doubles draw with a field of 64.
The Nittany Lions will feature nine players in the singles draw, six of which will begin play on Thursday. Freshmen C.J. Griffin (Portland, Mich.), Guanhua Chen (DaLian, China), and Bryan Welnetz (Laredo, Texas) will begin their play in singles on Thursday. Joining them on Thursday will be senior Guillaume St-Maurice (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) and sophomore Taylor Cohen (Philadelphia, Pa.). Freshman Warren Hardie (Laguna Niguel, Calif.), sophomore Jason Lee (Melbourne, Australia), junior Eddie Bourchier (Hobart, Australia), and senior Ryan Gormley (Las Vegas, Nev.) will all begin their action in singles on Friday.
In doubles action, Penn State will have four pairings competing. Bourchier and Lee will pair up for the second time this fall. The tandem captured the doubles title earlier this fall at the Princeton Fall Invitational. St-Maurice -Welnetz, Chen-Cohen, and Gormley-Hardie round out the Nittany Lion doubles pairings. All doubles action will begin on Thursday.
Doebler returns seven players from last year's team, including four starters. Penn State finished last season 14-13, the program's seventh consecutive winning season. Doebler carries a 46-32 record as head coach of the Nittany Lions.

Up next for the Nittany Lions is the Big Ten Singles Tournament, which is slated for Oct. 29-Nov. 2 in East Lansing, Mich. Penn State will begin dual match play on Jan. 24 with a doubleheader matchup at home with Princeton and Lehigh.
