After the first day of the 34th Nittany Lion Invitational, the Penn State women's golf team is currently in fourth place with a two round score of 618. Rollins College currently leads the tournament, putting together a score of 596.

Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) led the Nittany Lions, putting together scores of 71-74 (145). The first round score of 71 is the lowest for Penn State this season. She is currently in a tie for second place, one stroke behind the leader. Senior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) is in a tie for 23rd and was the second leading scorer for the Nittany Lions starters as she recorded scores of 74-82 (156). Junior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) is currently in a tie for 34th place with a 82-77 (159).

Junior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) and junior Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) rounded out the starters for the Nittany Lions. All of the Nittany Lions competed except for Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) because of injury. Victoria Arena (Landsdale, Pa.) also did not play the second round due to injury.

Freshman Sky Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) competed as an individual and put up the second best score on the team with a 76-78 (154) and is currently in a tie for 15th place.

Minjoo Lee of Bucknell recorded a hole in one on the par three, eighth hole in the first round.

The third and final round will continue tomorrow with a shotgun start at 9am.
