Nittany Lions in the NFL - Week 13

Each week throughout the year, www.GoPSUsports.com, will provide updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats. Highlights from week 13 of the 2009 season include Tamba Hali's best game of his professional career and Levi Brown and the Cardinals' impressive offensive performance versus one of the NFL's top defenses.

Anthony Adams (1999-02), DT, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears 17, St. Louis Rams 9
Adams had a big game for the Bears, coming off the bench to record four tackles, one sack, a tackle for a loss and one quarterback hit.

Jay Alford (2003-06), DT, New York Giants
New York Giants 31, Dallas Cowboys 24
Alford was placed on injured reserve after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. He will miss the entire 2009 season.

Levi Brown (2003-06), OT, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals 30, Minnesota Vikings 17
Brown helped front an impressive offensive outing versus a highly-touted Vikings defense, as the Cardinals produced 30 points and 398 total yards.

Deon Butler (2005-08), WR, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks 20, San Francisco 49ers 17
Butler had one reception for a season-long 32 yards, the Seahawks' longest pass play of the day versus the 49ers. Penn State's all-time leading receiver has been keeping a rookie diary for The Seattle Times and it makes for a very interesting and entertaining read. Check it out

Cadogan was signed to San Diego's practice squad on November 19. He will wear no. 77 for the Chargers.

Kerry Collins (1992-94), QB, Tennessee Titans

Collins again served as the primary back up for starting quarterback Vince Young but did not see action. In six starts this year, Collins has completed 108 of 197 passing attempts (54.8%) for 1,071 yards with five touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Connor continued to see increased action on the Carolina defense, recording three tackles (two solos). He also added one stop on special teams.

Gilmore played but did not have a catch in the loss to the Panthers.

Robbie Gould (2001-04), K, Chicago Bears

Gould converted on three kicking opportunities, connecting on a 27-yard field goal and making his two PAT attempts. For the season, he has hit on 18 of his 21 field goals attempts and is a perfect 23-for-23 on PATs.

Tamba Hali (2002-05), DE, Kansas City Chiefs

A starter at right outside linebacker in every game for the Chiefs this season, Hali had his most productive game of the season and of his professional career. The former consensus All-American defensive end posted a game-high 10 tackles, including nine solos, and tallied two forced fumbles to go along with three sacks.

In the starting line-up for every game in his first year with the Lions, Johnson had one reception for five yards versus the Bengals. For the season, he has 26 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns.

With starter Cedric Benson back in the line-up, Johnson ran for four yards on just two carries. This came one week after his 100-yard rushing performance versus the Cleveland Browns.

In Green Bay's fourth consecutive victory, Kapinos punted three times (43.0 avg.) with a long of 53.

Jimmy Kennedy (1999-02), DT, Minnesota Vikings

Kennedy recorded a pass defended in the loss to the Cardinals.

Justin King (2005-07), CB, St. Louis Rams

King served as an extra defensive back, registering one tackle versus the Bears.

Maybin notched a season single-game high three tackles, including one solo, versus New York.

McHugh is on the Steelers' injured list after sustaining a knee injury in the preseason and will be out for the season.

Kareem McKenzie (1997-00), OT, New York Giants

McKenzie and the Giants' offense had a strong performance versus Dallas' defense, posting 31 points while totaling 337 total net yards.

Rich Ohrnberger (2006-08), OG, New England Patriots

Ohrnberger was active for the second game of the season, seeing playing time versus Miami.

Paul Posluszny (2003-06), LB, Buffalo Bills

Posluszny recorded five tackles, a forced fumble, two quarterback hits, and a sack on Jets' signal caller Mark Sanchez for a loss of 10 yards.

Michael Robinson (2002-05), RB, San Francisco 49ers
Seattle Seahawks 20, San Francisco 49ers 17

Shaw played on special teams, recording one tackle.

A.Q. Shipley (2005-08), C, Pittsburgh Steelers

Shipley, a seventh round draft choice of Pittsburgh in the 2009 NFL draft, is a member of the Steelers' practice squad.

Stewart caught two passes for four yards in the Raiders' upset of the Steelers.
