UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Feb. 26, 2010 - The Nittany Lion basketball team (10-17; 2-13 Big Ten) will look to continue its recent dominance of Northwestern (18-10; 7-9 Big Ten) Sunday in a noon tip at the Bryce Jordan Center. The game can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.

It will be a fun-filled day for fans as the three-time defending NCAA Champion Nittany Lion women's volleyball team will be on the concourse for a pre-game autograph session. Honda Award winner Megan Hodge will be honored at halftime along with Coach Russ Rose and the team. Fans will receive a Nittany Lion Basketball panoramic poster at the gates while supplies last and can use it to get signatures in a post-game autograph session with the team. Youtube sensation "Firecrackers Jump Rope Team" will also perform at halftime and fans can enjoy great food deals on "Dollar Dog Day" and the "Subway Full Court Four Pack."

Penn State has won seven of its last eight meetings vs. the Wildcats including three-straight in the series and five in a row at the Jordan Center. The Nittany Lions posted an 81-70 victory in Evanston just 11 days ago behind 20-point games from junior David Jackson and sophomore Chris Babb.

Jackson, who has played the best basketball of his career in his last nine games scoring 13.1 ppg and shooting 53 percent from the floor, will be playing his 100th game in a Nittany Lion uniform. The 6-7 forward lost his grandfather, Toby Jackson (90), shortly after the Lions' Wednesday night game vs. Ohio State and has spent the remainder of the week in his hometown of Farrell, Pa. preparing for services for the man who helped to raise him and with which he was very close.

Northwestern is coming off a 74-57 domination of Iowa in Iowa City on Thursday behind 29 points from 6-8 sophomore John Shurna. Shurna scored 17 in the meeting in Evanston and ranks third in the Big Ten scoring 18.5 ppg. He also leads Northwestern with 66 threes. The Wildcats lead the Big Ten hitting 9.1 threes per game and rank third hitting 36.3 percent from the arc. Northwestern has lost three of its last five games as it fights for a post-season berth.

Penn State owns a 23-12 record in the series and is 13-2 in State College vs. the Wildcats, both by far the Lions' most successful series in the Big Ten. Penn State coach Ed DeChellis will be looking for his 200th victory in 14 seasons as a head coach. He will look to get continued help from junior Andrew Jones who is averaging a season-best 9.3 ppg and 6.3 rpg in his last three games.

Talor Battle will enter the game four assists shy of 400 for his career. Should he achieve the mark he will become just the sixth Nittany Lion ever to post 1,000 points and 400 assists in a career and the first since Joe Crispin in 2001. Battle on Wednesday joined Crispin and All-American Jesse Arnelle as the only three Lions ever to post consecutive seasons of 500 points or more. He brings 515 for the season and 1,467 (7th all-time) on his career into Sunday.
