NCAA Indoor Championships Set To Be Aired On ESPN2 Wednesday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.: March 16, 2010 - The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held last weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., are set to be aired on the ESPN2, Wednesday from 1:30-3:00 p.m., EST. The Nittany Lions enjoyed an outstanding weekend, paced by 10 All-America finishes. The Penn State women captured 13th-place in the team standings - the program's third-consecutive top 15 finish indoors - while the men's team tied for 14th place, earning the highest finish by the Nittany Lion men since the 1990 season.

The Nittany Lions posted an impressive total of three bronze-medal finishes, including junior Shavon Greaves (Lakewood, N.J.) in the 200-meters, junior Ryan Foster (Tasmania, Australia) in the 800-meters, and junior Joe Kovacs (Nazareth, Pa.) in the shot put. Senior Bridget Franek (Hiram, Ohio), who is now a nine-time NCAA All-American, would also turn in a top-five effort, placing fourth in the 5000-meters for the second-consecutive year. Franek would add a second All-America standing in the 3,000-meters, placing seventh overall. Senior Fawn Dorr (Akron, N.Y.) captured her fifth-career All-America citation, thanks to a fifth-place finish in the 400-meters.

Also attaining All-America status were Blake Eaton (Allegeny, N.Y.), who placed eighth in the shot put, and Owen Dawson (Coatesville, Pa.), who managed an eighth-place effort in the 800. Greaves - already a five-time All-American - earned her second All-American finish of the weekend with an 11th-place finish in the 60-meters, while junior Lionel Williams (Staten Island, N.Y.) garnered All-America honors with an 11-place showing in the 800.

The Nittany Lions will being outdoor season on April 2-3, at the Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
