Penn State Women's Golf Team Completes Day One of Lady Buckeye

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The women's golf team finished day one of the Lady Buckeye Invitational, hosted by Ohio State, in 11th place out of the 12 teams competing. Penn State carded a score of 674 (338-336) through the first two rounds of play in Columbus, Ohio.

Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) is currently the team leader after notching a 166 (86-80) for a +22 and a tie for 43rd place. Senior Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) came in one stroke behind Ransone with a 167 (81-86). After her first two rounds of the season for the Nittany Lions, she is currently in a tie for 48th place.

To round out the top four scorers for Penn State was junior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and freshman Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Ill.). Fanelli carded a 169 (86-83) and is currently in a tie for 55th, while Lavin currently holds a 172 (85-87) through the first two rounds.

Host school Ohio State is currently leading the field after its team put together a two-round score of 615 (304-311) and a +39. Northwestern's Kelsey Lindenschmidt currently holds a one-stroke lead over Ohio State's Rachel Rohanna with a151 (74-77) for the individual lead.

The tournament will resume tomorrow at Ohio State's Scarlet Course. The third and final round will begin at 8:30 a.m.
