Women's Golf Team Completes Lady Buckeye Invitational

Lady Buckeye Final Results

Following two days and three rounds of golf in Columbus, Ohio, the Nittany Lions finished the Lady Buckeye Invitational with a score of 994 (338-336-320) for +130. The score left Penn State with an 11th place finish in the tournament, hosted by Ohio State.

Freshman Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) had the finished with the top score for the Nittany Lions in the tournament. She carded a 74 in the first round, leaving her at 240 (86-80-74) for the three-round tournament. Her +24 through the tournament was good for a tie for 24th place. Senior Lindsay Cullen (Allen, Texas) finished her first tournament of the season with a score of 249 (81-86-82), giving her a tie for 51st place.

Junior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) finished just behind Cullen with a score of 253 (86-83-84). Freshman Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Ill.) finished two strokes behind Fanelli with a 255 (85-87-83). Junior Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) and freshman Courtney Kordes (Natrona Heights, Pa.) also competed for the Nittany Lions.

Ohio State won the team title after carding a third round score of 304, giving them a score 919 through the three rounds. The score of 919 was 14 strokes better than Michigan State, who finished in second place. Laura Kueny of Michigan State took the individual title after notching a 227 (78-76-73).

The Nittany Lions will resume play at the Big Ten Championships in Madison, Wis. The tournament will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 23-25.
