Women's Golf Team Finishes Second Round of Cincinnati Classic in Third Place

After two rounds of play at the Cincinnati Fall Classic hosted by the University of Cincinnati, the Penn State women's golf team is currently in third place with a 35-over-par score of 611 (305-306), nine strokes out of first place.

Seniors Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) led the Nittany Lions through the first two rounds of play. Each put together two-round scores of 151 (+7), good for a tie for sixth place overall.

Sophomore Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) carded an 8-over-par 152 (74-78), finishing the round in a tie for 11th place. Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) finished after Ransone with a 159 (78-81), and a tie for 33rd place. Senior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) rounded out the field for the Nittany Lions in the first two rounds of play, carding a score of 161 (82-79).

Florida International led all teams after the two rounds of play, with a 26-over-par 602 (307-295). Also, Florida International golfer Cristina Marin leads all individuals after two rounds with an even-par 144 (73-71).

The third and final round of the tournament will begin tomorrow, Sept. 21, with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
