UNCG Classic Second Round Washed Out, Continuation to be Determined

UNCG Classic Rd. 1 Results

The second round of the UNCG Classic has been washed out due to weather. The tournament will continue with 18 holes tomorrow, Sept. 28 at 8:30 a.m., weather permitting.

Through one round of play at the UNCG Fall Classic in Greensboro, N.C., the Penn State women's golf team is currently in a tie for fourth place. The Nittany Lions put together a team total of 308 (+20).

Sophomore Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) carded a team-best round of 72 for even par. The 72 is Ransone's second-best round of the season and is good for a tie for third place following the first round. Sophomore Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) had the second-best round on the team with a 5-over-par 77. She is currently in a tie for 17th place. Senior Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) finished one stroke behind Seo with a 78 and a tie for 32nd place.

Senior Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) carded an 81 (+9), while senior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) put together a score of 82 to round out the starters for the Nittany Lions. Freshman Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) competed as an individual in her first-ever round for Penn State and carded a 73. She is currently in a tie for sixth place.

North Carolina State and Maryland are currently tied for the team lead, each putting together a score of 302 (+14) in the first round. Alex Buelow of Stetson University currently leads all golfers with a 2-under-par score of 70 through the first day.
