Men's Swimming Travels to OSU Quad Meet Friday and Saturday

Jan. 29, 2010

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men's swimming & diving team will face its first Big Ten dual meet competition this weekend at Ohio State. The Nittany Lions will take on Northwestern, Michigan and OSU starting Friday evening.

Penn State enters the two-day meet with a 3-3 record after splitting dual meets against Pittsburgh and Maryland two weeks ago. Northwestern is 4-4, losing last week to Iowa, 149.5-144.5, at home in Evanston. All four of the Wildcats' losses have come to Big Ten competition.

Ohio State and Michigan are each ranked in the top 10 of the CSCAA Division I Swimming & Diving poll. Michigan is ranked tied-sixth with a 3-0 dual meet record, while OSU is ninth with a 6-0 mark.

This will be the second time this season the Nittany Lions have swum at McCorkle Natatorium, site of the Big Ten Men's Swimming & Diving Championships as well as the NCAA Championships in March. Earlier this season, Penn State swam to fifth place at the OSU Invitational.

This will be the second-to-last dual meet weekend of the season for the Nittany Lions. Next week Penn State will take on Buffalo (Fri., Feb. 5 at 4 p.m.) and Lehigh (Sat., Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.) at McCoy Natatorium in Happy Valley.
