Football Game Day Staff

Penn State Football, the “Greatest Show in College Football”, welcomes 107,000 fans to home games and we want you to be part of our team, creating a lifetime of memorable experiences at Beaver Stadium.

Penn State is actively seeking part-time game day staff to deliver an above and beyond “Happy Valley Hospitality” experience with exceptional customer service and a safe and welcoming environment  to all Guests for Penn State Football home games. 

Are You Someone That:

  • Has a positive attitude and likes to talk to people?
  • Works well in a fast moving, collaborative, team-driven environment?
  • Can focus on providing great customer service, and not get distracted watching the game on the field?
  • Is comfortable working in large crowds, loud environments, and all weather conditions?

Game Day Staff roles will include:

  • Usher: Create a sense of community in Beaver Stadium. Responsible for the seating and safety of all patrons, ushers are expected to politely direct or escort patrons to their seats and be available to answer any questions they may have.
  • Guest Services: A customer service specialist and a problem solver. Guest Services staff will greet and assist all fans and have an in-depth knowledge of Beaver Stadium to own and address any questions or issues that may arise.

Non-Football Event Staff

Penn State Athletics proudly supports 31 varsity teams and hosts a wide range of home athletic competitions and special events each year.  Join the Penn State Event Staff and serve an essential role in delivering our unique “Happy Valley Hospitality” experience, creating a lifetime of memories for all Guests.

  • Can focus on the guest experience and not get distracted by the competition / game taking place?
  • Is comfortable working in large crowds, loud environments, and all weather conditions?

Game Day Staff roles will include:

  • Usher: Create a sense of community within all Penn State Athletic Facilities. Responsible for the seating and safety of all patrons, ushers are expected to politely direct or escort patrons to their seats and be available to answer any questions they may have.
  • Ticket Operations: Welcome guests to the venue, assist with scanning mobile tickets for entry.  Proactively assist guests with ticket questions.  Provide answers to questions and resolve issues guests have with mobile tickets.
  • Misc. Game Operations:  Be a part of the team behind the team assisting with game operations such as PA announcing, scorer’s table operations, team & official liaisons, credential distribution, check in & elevator attendants, etc.

Bring events to life behind-the-scenes!  Penn State is seeking magic makers to assist with live video board productions, event streams and highlight features for all 31 varsity teams.  The position will cover events produced at Beaver Stadium, Pegula Ice Arena, the Bryce Jordan Center, Rec Hall, Beard Field, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, Jeffrey Field, Panzer Stadium and more.

  • Audio/Video Production Assistant: Enhance the in-game and at-home viewing experience for fans.  Serve as an audio/video production assistant for in-game video board productions and event streams.

Penn State Golf Courses

Providing some of the very best the game has to offer, the Penn State Golf Courses are looking for individuals to preserve its beautiful course conditions and provide personalized service for a complete, professional golf experience. 

Penn State Golf Course roles will include:

  • Part-Time Seasonal Golf Course Maintenance: Create a sense of harmony and a relaxing atmosphere for all Guests.  Responsible for mowing greens, tees, fairways and rough.  Role also includes maintenance of bunkers and course setup.

Pegula Ice Arena

The Pegula Ice Arena is a premier ice facility for the community as well as home to Penn State's men's and women's ice hockey teams. Today, the Pegula Ice Arena is open 350 days a year with millions of visitors through the building each year. From lessons, to youth tournaments, public skating sessions and college hockey games, there's always something going on at Pegula Ice Arena!

Sport Camps

Penn State Sports Camps cultivate a lifelong enjoyment of sport, offering youth the experience of learning and growing as athletes and individuals.  Support Penn State coaches and student-athletes shaping the athletic, social, physical and educational development of the next generation. 

  • Health Aides: Provide a safe training experience for all campers.  Responsible for treating minor injuries, referring injuries to Health Tech for further evaluation and care and as needed care in the housing facilities for overnight campers.  Applicants must be certified in CPR, First Aid and EpiPen Usage.

  • Office Assistant and Support: A customer service specialist and magic maker behind the scenes.  Responsible for all areas of office administration, including answering incoming  data input, assisting with registration and check-in, moving boxes of supplies, delivering equipment/supplies, camp/site setup.

  • Sport Camps Registration Clerk: A de facto director of first impressions.  As the first face the campers and parents see, this person will greet campers, check them in, hand out t-shirts, collect camp forms and answer any questions the parents or campers may have.

  • Sport Camps Gatorade Team: A customer service specialist and “hydration helper”.  Responsible for assisting with mixing, dispensing, storing and delivering Gatorade and its products to camp site locations.  This role includes cleaning and sanitizing Gatorade stations and lifting up to 15 pounds.

Field and Grounds Maintenance

Essential to providing a competitive home field advantage for Penn State coaches and student-athletes, Penn State Athletics seeks part-time seasonal assistants to support the Grounds Crew at all 17 competition and practice facilities. 

  • Part-time Seasonal ICA Grounds Staff: Maintain first-class training and competition facilities for all student-athletes.  Responsibilities include facility setup and clean up general athletic facility maintenance and other duties as assigned. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and can successfully pass a motor vehicle records check.

Concessions

Essential to providing a great game day experience for fans, Penn State Athletics seeks part-time athletic concession event support. 

  • Part-Time Athletic Concession Event Support: Concession stand employees at various athletic venues during sporting events, and/or also stand supervisors at Beaver Stadium for Penn State Football games.
