Nittany Lion Basketball Announces Promotion Schedule/Single Game Tickets

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; Oct. 11, 2010 - With the start of the 2010-11 season just a month away and a veteran Nittany Lion squad that returns nearly 3,400 career points beginning practice on Friday, Penn State announced the availability of single game tickets and the promotion schedule for 19 home games at the Bryce Jordan Center this season.

Fans can purchase single-game tickets or PNC Flex Books for any of the Nittany Lions' nine Big Ten home contests or marquee non-conference match-ups vs. Saint Joseph's and Maryland. The PNC Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, including one specifically for the Nittany Lions' Coaches vs. Cancer game and one for the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game, that can be redeemed for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets in any combination for just $99.

Single-game tickets for Nittany Lion games are $18 for the lower bowl and $15 for upper level tickets for adults. Youth tickets (18 and under) are $7 for the lower bowl and $5 for upper level seating, while Penn State student tickets (University Park or branch campus) are $5 for each of the 19 home contests. Single-game tickets can be ordered by calling the ticket office at 814-865-5555, by visiting GoPSUsports.com or through Ticketmaster.

Penn State also offers special group ticket rates (15 fans or more) of $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Groups of 25 or more will receive a Penn State basketball hat and any group that purchases tickets to multiple games will receive $5 tickets for any subsequent purchase after their first. Many fan favorite ticket promotions will return for 2010-11. Penn State will again offer "Subway Full Court 4 Pack" deals, which include four tickets, four soft drinks at the game and a voucher for four Subway six-inch subs at State College locations for just $40. Full Court 4 Pack games include: Nov. 19 vs. Fairfield, Dec. 1 vs. Maryland, Jan. 28 vs. Michigan State, Jan. 29 vs. Wisconsin, Feb. 6 vs. Michigan and Feb. 13 vs. Northwestern.

The ever-popular "Dollar Dog Nights" will also return for games Nov. 16 vs. Saint Joseph's, Jan. 26 vs. Iowa and March 1 vs. Ohio State.

Other highlighted ticket promotions during the season include a food drive for the Nov. 19 game vs. Fairfield in which fans bringing a canned good can receive a voucher for a $7 ticket. "Tweet Night" will be Nov. 22 vs. Central Connecticut State with any fan following one of the basketball program's official designated twitter feeds will receive $5 off full price ticket. "Like it Day" will be Nov. 28 vs. Furman and Jan. 26 vs. Iowa with any fan who "likes" Penn State Basketball on Facebook having the opportunity to print a voucher for a buy one, get one free ticket to the games. "Armed Services Day" will be Dec. 4 vs. Duquesne with fans getting a free ticket and an additional ticket for $5 when showing any valid military ID. December 4 will also be "Toys for Tots Day" with fans getting a free ticket when bringing a toy.

Penn State will welcome preseason top 10 ranked Purdue on Jan. 5 with "Five off the Fifth Night" where fans wearing an official "First Night" button will receive $5 off a full priced ticket. Another preseason top 10-ranked team will be the opponent on "Student THON Night" with all student single game ticket sales going to benefit THON when the Lions take on Illinois on Jan. 11. "Youth Night" will be on Feb. 17 when Penn State faces Minnesota in a nationally televised game on ESPN/2. Any youth wearing their team basketball jersey will receive free admission to the game.

Penn State fans will also have plenty of chances to take advantage of great giveaways during the season. All giveaways will be while supplies last starting with Penn State's exciting Big Ten/ACC Challenge match-up with Maryland on Dec. 1 where fans can receive rally towels. Fans can receive a Penn State basketball holiday hat on Dec. 21 when the Lions take on Maine. Penn State basketball growth charts will be given away on Jan. 8 when the Lions take on 2010 Final Four participant Michigan State. Fans can receive LED shakers at the Jan. 11 Illinois contest or grab a Talor Battle football on Feb. 6 when the Lions face Michigan. Trading card sets will be given away on Feb. 13 when Penn State takes on Northwestern and the Lions' March 1 contest vs. Ohio State will serve as "Senior Day" and "Penn State Basketball T-shirt Night."

There will be no end to the entertainment in the Jordan Center as numerous acts have been scheduled for fans halftime entertainment including The Amazing Christopher, The Extreme Dunk Team, Dan Menendez and his giant piano and fan favorite Red Panda.

Penn State will get the season started on Sun. Nov. 7 when the Lions take on East Stroudsburg in exhibition action at the Jordan Center. Season ticket holders will receive free tickets to the 2:30 p.m. contest in the mail and students will have free admission with a valid ID. All other fans can purchase general admission tickets for $5.

The Lions will officially open the season on Friday, Nov. 12 when they take on Lehigh in a 7:30 p.m.

Penn State returns four senior starters and 75 percent of its scoring for coach Ed DeChellis' eighth season at the helm. Two-time All-Big Ten point-guard will enter the season 613 points shy of eclipsing the Nittany Lions' all-time scoring mark of 2,138 set by All-American Jesse Arnelle in 1955. Battle was recently named the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 list for the second straight season and is the top returning scorer in the Big Ten.
