Aug. 18, 2010

Shenandoah, Pa. - Shen-Heights TV Association, serving 2,000 customers in Pennsylvania, announced today that it has reached agreement to carry the Big Ten Network, an internationally distributed television network dedicated exclusively to the Big Ten Conference. The announcement was made today by Martin F. Brophy, Shen-Heights TV Association President and CEO, and Big Ten Network President Mark Silverman.

In making the announcement Brophy said the cable system believes the network will be an instant hit with Penn State fans in the area. "We're really very pleased that our customers are able to get the Big Ten Network," Brophy continued. "Shenandoah is obviously Big Ten country, and I expect the Big Ten Network to become a popular destination for our customers very, very quickly."

Silverman said, "When Shen-Heights TV subscribers tune to the network, they'll find the ultimate source for Big Ten sports, with unparalleled coverage of the Nittany Lions, and all of the Big Ten's universities. In addition to hundreds of live events, the network is poised to offer its most ambitious lineup of studio and original programming beginning this fall, and Big Ten fans are going to love what they see."

Shen-Heights TV will launch the Big Ten Network on September 1, 2010, on channel 46, in time for opening weekend of the college football season.

The Big Ten Network is the first internationally distributed network dedicated to covering one of the premier collegiate conferences in the country. With approximately 350 live events, and nearly all of them in high definition, the network is the top viewing destination for Big Ten fans and alumni across the country, allowing them to see their favorite teams, regardless of where they live. The network also streams hundreds of additional events on its website, www.bigtennetwork.com. Many of these events are part of the network's Student U initiative, which allows Big Ten students to gain real-world television production experience. Student U events are streamed live and later air on delay on the linear network to a national television audience.

The network operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, showcasing a wide array of classic-to-current sports and televising more Olympic sporting events and women's sports than has ever been aired on any other network. Original programming highlights activities and accomplishments of some of the nation's finest universities. Each year, the network offers between 35 and 40 football games, 105 regular season men's basketball games, 55 women's basketball games, dozens of Big Ten Championship events, studio and original programming, coaches' shows and classic games.
