PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Former Penn State field hockey assistant coach Jill Reeve has been named the new head coach at Brown after piecing together an extensive resume during her outstanding career as a player and coach at the collegiate level.

Prior to securing her first head coaching job at Miami (Ohio), Reeve served on the Nittany Lion staff from 1996-2000. Over that time, she helped guide Penn State to three consecutive Big Ten titles and a berth in the NCAA Tournament during each of her five seasons in Happy Valley.

With Reeve on the sidelines, PSU posted an 84-31 record and won two regular season conference championships in 1997 and 1998. During each of those seasons, the Lions eventually advanced to the quarterfinals of the national tournament.

Following her stint with Penn State, Reeve served as an assistant at William & Mary before securing the head coaching position at Miami. In seven years with the RedHawks, she guided the squad to the MAC Championship Game four times, culminating in the program's first-ever regular season title in 2010. For her efforts last year, she was honored as the conference's Coach of the Year.

Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Reeve was an All-American at Old Dominion from 1989-93. During that time, she set the NCAA record for career assists with 138 and was a member of four national championship squads from 1989-92.

Along with her collegiate career, she spent 12 years competing with the national team and served as the captain in 1997 and the co-captain in 1999 and 2000. She also represented the nation during the 1996 Summer Olympics and during the World Cup in 1994, 1998, and 2002.
