Women's Golf Team Finishes Second Round in Columbus, Ohio

Following two rounds of play at the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational today in Columbus, Ohio, the Penn State women's golf team is currently in ninth place out of 12 teams participating. The Nittany Lions carded a 63-over-par 639 (317-322).

Sophomore Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio) led the squad through the first two rounds and is currently sitting in a tie for fifth place with one round left to play. Ransone carded a two-round score of 153 (78-75) and is nine-over-par. Freshman Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) followed Ransone with a 158 (77-81) and is tied for 22nd.

Senior Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia) carded the third best score on the team through two rounds as she posted a 20-over-par 164. Senior Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) is two strokes behind Malcolmson with a 166. Freshman Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) carded a 167 and sophomore Hanule Seo (St. Louis, Mo.) rounded out the field with a 171.

Michigan State currently leads the field with a two-round score of 603 (303-300) for a 27-over-par as a team. Michigan State's Caroline Powers leads all individuals with a 3-over-par 147 (75-72).

The third and final round of play will take place tomorrow, April 17. It will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
