Men's Golf in Third After Two Rounds at Big Ten Championship

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Penn State men's golf team is off to a great start at the Big Ten Championship in West Lafayette, Ind. After two rounds, the Nittany Lions sit in third with scores of 297-294 (591), just 10 strokes behind Illinois who sits in first with a two round total of 581 (293-288).

Senior T.J. Howe (Osceola, Pa.) and sophomore Jay Woodward (Bridgeport, W.Va.) stood out on the Kampen Course today for the Nittany Lions firing rounds of 73-71 (144) and 71-73 (144), respectively. The duo will go into day two tied for fourth. Anthony DeGol (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) finished 5-over par for the day with rounds of 74-75 (149). The sophomore tallied eight birdies and will go into the third round tied for 23. In his season debut, junior Nick Archambault (Q.C., Canada) posted rounds of 79-75 (154). Archambault is currently tied for 41. Senior Tommy McDonagh (East Norwalk, Pa.) shot consistent rounds of 80 (160) to place him at 53.

The second and third rounds will take place Saturday and Sunday with 18 holes on each day. Saturday's round will begin at 9 a.m. There will be live scoring available at Golfstat.
