Quarterback Club Membership Nearing Capacity

Aug. 19, 2011

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.: - State College Quarterback Club President Dave Richards has announced that the Quarterback Club will not be able to accommodate any additional members after August 24 and is nearing its capacity.

"Due to space limitations, parking and demand we only have a limited number of additional memberships available," Richards said. "Membership demand is indicative of the excitement for this upcoming season and a reflection on the loyalty built by Coach Joe Paterno over his career."

The Quarterback Club will begin its weekly luncheons on Wednesday, August 31 at The Mount Nittany Club in Beaver Stadium. The luncheons, held during the football season, feature a member of the coaching staff and two football student-athletes each week. There will be 12 luncheons on the Wednesday prior to each game, with no luncheon scheduled on November 2 since the football team has an open date on Nov. 5.

Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served until the program begins at 11:50 a.m. Richards indicated the program will be starting 10 minutes earlier than previous years to accommodate a number of special guests that the Quarterback Club has added for 2011.

All Quarterback Club members are admitted through Gate B to the luncheons with their membership cards. Each are given parking passes valid in a separate section of Upper Lot 44, just across from the south end of the stadium. In addition, handicapped parking will be available in the Bryce Jordan Center ADA Lot and Stadium West Lot on a first come-first served basis.

The State College Quarterback Club supports the Penn State football program and is open to all fans of the Nittany Lions. The Club annually sponsors the Penn State Football Banquet, which salutes the Nittany Lion seniors. This year's banquet will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

Fans interested in securing one of the few remaining memberships should email Quarterback Club President Dave Richards at Dave.Richards@NittanyBank.com. The other 2011 officers of the Quarterback Club are First Vice President, Pete Rohrer, Treasurer Bob Levy and Secretary
