UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -

The Penn State women's golf team will travel to French Lick, Ind., to participate in the Lady Northern Invitational. Indiana is hosting the Lady Northern on the par-71, 6,037-yard Donald Ross Course at the French Lick Resort. The 54-hole tournament will begin with two rounds on Monday (Oct. 10) and end with one round on Tuesday (Oct. 11). Each team will play five players and count the four best scores. All Big Ten teams will be competing in the tournament except for Michigan State, Northwestern and Purdue.

"The Lady Northern typically is the fall preview for Big Ten," said head coach Denise St. Pierre. "The entire field is tough and we are looking for a top-five finish to help boost our national rankings. We have to put together three solid days to do so."

Sophomore Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) has led the Nittany Lions through seven rounds of play this fall with a strokes-per-round average of 75.1. Classmate Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) and freshman Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ont.) are each coming off of an eighth place finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational.

Freshmen Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Que.) and Erin Michel (Mason, Ohio) will also make the trip, along with junior Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio).

There are 12 teams competing in the Lady Northern. Monday's play will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. The final 18 holes on Tuesday will also begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
