UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Members of the Penn State fencing team will travel to Kansas City this weekend, Dec. 9-12, to compete in the 2011 North American Cup. The NAC is one of three big tournaments the United State Fencing Association hosts throughout the year in addition to the Junior Olympic Championships as well as the USA Fencing National Championships. The four-day, NAC tournament will bring in some of the nations top fencers giving Penn State the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes in the country.
Nine Nittany Lions will travel to Kansas City led by the men's team captain Aleksander Ochocki. Five freshmen will be taking the trip including David Gomez Tanamachi, Jeffrey Miller, Alex Schneller, Sean Moran and representing the women's team Alina Antokhina. Adrian Bak, Jeremy Goldstein and Nicole Glon, three veteran fencers for Penn State, round out the group.
