No. 12 Women's Gymnastics Hosts Maryland on Senior Night

The 12th-ranked Penn State women's gymnastics team is back at home for their final meet of the regular season on Saturday, March 17. The Nittany Lions host Maryland in a double dual with the Nittany Lion men's team who take on Minnesota.

At the conclusion of the meet, the program's four seniors, Daryl Konsevick (Rutherford, N.J.), Whitney Bencsko (Pompton Plains, N.J), Alexandra Stine (Philipsburg, Pa.) and Natalie Ettl (Waukesha, Wis.) will be honored for their contributions to Penn State women's gymnastics. In addition, more than 100 Penn State women's gymnastics alumni will be in attendance to cheer on the Nittany Lions for "Alumni Weekend."

Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 1-800-NITTANY or at the Rec Hall ticket office prior to the event. Saturday night is also Penn State Faculty & Staff night. All Faculty & Staff and their immediate families get in for $5. Present a PSU ID at the Rec Hall ticket office and receive a special $5 ticket (Max. 4 per ID) to the gymnastics dual courtesy of Penn State Federal Credit Union, proud sponsor of Faculty & Staff Night.

The Series: Penn State vs. Maryland
The Nittany Lions are 14-1 overall against the Terrapins. Penn State opened the 2012 season in a tri-meet at West Virginia on Jan. 8 with the Terrapins. Penn State won the meet with a 195.775, while the Terrapins placed third with a 194.225. The squads met twice in 2011, first at Maryland. Penn State joined Rutgers and William & Mary for a quad meet at Maryland on Feb. 18. Penn State won with a 196.600, while the Terrapins finished second with a 195.300. Maryland visited Penn State on March 4 for a tri meet with N.C. State. Penn State scored a 197.075 to win the meet, while Maryland finished third with a 194.625.

Maryland Notes
Maryland closed out their regular season home slate on March 11 with Bridgeport and Penn. The Terrapins scored a season-high 195.075 for the victory on their "Senior Day". This is Maryland's final regular season meet before the EAGL Championships on March 24 in PIttsburgh, Pa.

What's Next?
The Nittany Lions head to the Big Ten Championships on March 24. Action is set for 2 p.m. ET and is hosted by Iowa.
