Olympic Speakers and Events Come to the Penn State All-Sports Museum

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State All-Sports Museum will be celebrating The 2012 Olympic Games in London England with a variety of programming throughout July and August 2012.

On Wednesday, July 18, the Museum will present the "Ball Games of the World" exhibit from 10am-4pm with a special presentation beginning at noon. The collection from around the world has been gathered by Dr. Ken Swalgin, associate professor of kinesiology at Penn State York.

On Friday July 20 and Saturday July 21 the Museum will host a free showing of the Olympic film Chariots of Fire. Show times are at 1pm on each day. Refreshments will be served. The film is free and open to the community.

Join us on Thursday, July 26, as the Museum hosts a panel discussion with Penn State Olympians Mary Ellen Clark, Erica Walsh, Char Morett, Royal Mitchell, and Teri Jordan. The panel will share stories from their Olympic journeys and victories.

On Friday, July 27, the Museum is helping our youngest visitors prepare for the opening ceremonies by providing a free Olympic Torch craft and an Olympic scavenger hunt throughout the galleries. Registration is not required. This event is free and open to the community.

Throughout the month of August, the Museum will host a gallery talk every Friday at noon about outstanding Penn Staters and their Olympic journeys. The gallery talks are free and open to the community. Registration is not required.
