Penn State Training Days Special Debuts Tuesday on ESPN

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., August 19, 2013 - Fans will get an inside look on the Penn State football team's preparations under second-year head coach Bill O'Brien through a series of All-Access specials across ESPN platforms beginning Tuesday, August 20.

ESPN All-Access: Penn State Training Days will showcase behind-the-scenes access to on- and off-field activities, team meetings and campus facilities. The segments will introduce players and coaches as they compete in pre-season training camp, which began August 5. The Nittany Lions open the season Aug. 31 vs. Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

A one-hour ESPN special debuts Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. on ESPN and re-airs at 10 p.m. on ESPNU. A four-part series consisting of 30-minute specials on ESPNU will air Aug. 21 (6:00 and 6:30 p.m.), Aug. 22 (6 p.m.) and Aug. 23 (6 p.m.), with re-airs throughout the week.

Vignettes from Penn State Training Days have been airing on SportsCenter, College Football Live and other ESPN platforms daily since Aug. 16 and can be viewed on ESPN.com.

Penn State joins Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma as the college football programs featured on the ESPN All-Access: Training Days series since its 2010 debut.

O'Brien's squad returns 16 starters and 37 letterwinners for this year. Season tickets are available for the 2013 campaign. The Nittany Lions will host five bowl teams from 2012, including three teams that finished in the BCS Top 25: Michigan (Oct. 12-Homecoming, 5 p.m.), Nebraska (Nov. 23) and Kent State (Sept. 21). Purdue (Nov. 16), Illinois (Nov. 2), UCF (Sept. 14, 6 p.m.) and Eastern Michigan (Sept. 7, 12 p.m.) also will visit Beaver Stadium this fall.

Penn State opens its 127th season vs. Syracuse on August 31 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.
