UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State's Senior Day clash against Nebraska on Nov. 23, the Nittany Lions' final home game of the season, has been set for a 3:30 p.m. kick. BTN will televise the contest from Beaver Stadium.
The Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com will begin coverage of the Penn State-Nebraska game at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Coach Bill O'Brien's Nittany Lions (6-4, 3-3) are coming off a 45-21 win over Purdue, while Nebraska (7-3, 4-2) lost to No. 14 Michigan State, 41-28, on Saturday.
Tickets for the Nebraska game are available using the Beaver Stadium Interactive Seat Map at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets, calling 1-800-NITTANY (weekdays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.), or visiting the Jordan Center ticket office (weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.).
The Penn State seniors will be introduced to the Beaver Stadium faithful in a pre-game ceremony before the Nebraska kick in what is always one of the highlights of the season. Among the Nittany Lions who will be playing their final home game on Saturday are: defensive tackle Kyle Baublitz (York), punter Alex Butterworth (Indianapolis), linebacker Glenn Carson (Manahawkin, N.J.), wide receiver Brandon Felder (Fort Washington, Md.), tackle Adam Gress (West Mifflin), center Ty Howle (Wake Forest, N.C.), defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (Johnson City, N.Y.), linebacker/safety Stephen Obeng-Agyapong (Bronx, N.Y.), tackle Eric Shrive (West Scranton), guard John Urschel (Williamsville, N.Y.), safety Malcolm Willis (Marbury, Md.) and fullback Pat Zerbe (West Lawn).
The Nittany Lions and the Cornhuskers will be meeting for the 16th time, with Nebraska holding a slim 8-7 edge in the series after last year's 32-23 win in Lincoln. The teams first met in 1920 and Nebraska has been Penn State's protected Big Ten divisional crossover opponent since the Huskers joined the conference in 2011. After the Nov. 23 game, the teams are not scheduled to meet again until 2017, with the Big Ten East and West Divisions starting in 2014.
The announcement of the Nebraska kick brings the total of known Penn State start times to 11 for this season. The Nittany Lions will be making their sixth appearance of the season on BTN. The final Penn State kick time and TV information, for the Nov. 30 game at Wisconsin, will occur within the Big Ten's 6 or 12 day selection process.
Penn State Athletics and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank also are conducting their second annual food drive from Nov. 15-24. Fans are encouraged to "Stuff a Blue Bus" by dropping off canned goods at the following drop-off locations: Bryce Jordan Center, Jeffrey Field, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park and the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau. The goal for "Stuff a Blue Bus" is to collect 10,000 lbs. of food.
Every Penn State football game has been televised the past 10 seasons and 238 of the last 240 contests overall have been on TV. All Nittany Lion football and basketball games air on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
Penn State students can purchase a pair of tickets for the Senior Day game at a special price - up to two tickets for $40 each -- with their valid student ID. Students from all Penn State campuses and the World Campus are able to buy two tickets for the Nebraska game in advance by calling 1-800-NITTANY or in-person at the Beaver Stadium ticket office (weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). This special student ticket offer also is available on gameday at the Beaver Stadium ticket office starting four hours prior to kickoff (11:30 a.m.).
The seats for this special student ticket offer will not be located in the 21,000-seat student section in Beaver Stadium.
