UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The #15/14 Penn State Lady Lions (11-3, 2-0 Big Ten) will open the home portion of their Big Ten Conference slate when they host #20/21 Purdue (10-4, 0-2) on Sunday at 3 p.m. Fans will receive a Dara Taylor mini-magnetic bobblehead while supplies last. It's also Military Appreciation Day where military members that show their ID will receive four (4) free tickets and the opportunity to buy additional tickets for $5 each. The game will air on ESPN with Joe Davis and LaChina Robinson on the call.

GIVEAWAY: Fans will receive a Dara Taylor mini-magnetic bobblehead while supplies last. Fans will get a voucher at the gate to redeem the bobblehead at the redemption locations located in the BJC. This giveaway is the third in a series of six giveaways this season; the next giveaway will be an Ariel Edwards mini-magnetic bobblehead on Thursday, Jan. 16.
KIDS FUN ZONE: The Kids Fun Zone will be on the concourse with an airbrush tattoo artist, caricature artist, face painter and a create-a-sign station.
LIMITED BAG POLICY: Penn State has implemented a limited bag policy at all home athletic events this season. One clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag per person will be permitted for medical needs, child care needs and general items as needed. Items that can fit in a pocket should remain in patrons' pockets (i.e. keys, cell phone, wallet, glasses, camera, sunscreen, lip balm, make-up). General items of this nature, including those that don't fit in patrons' pocket, can also be placed in a clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag. All clear bags will be inspected through the bag and article check stations as in prior years.
TV: The game will air on ESPN with Joe Davis and LaChina Robinson on the call. The game is also available on the web on ESPN3.com.

LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Lions rallied from a 12-point first half deficit with a strong second frame on the way to an 82-76 win at Illinois Thursday. Senior Ariel Edwards posted her second career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Peyton Whitted nearly had the first double-double of her career with a personal-bests bests of nine tallies and 10 boards. Maggie Lucas also reached the 20-point mark with 24 tallies, including a 10-for-10 mark from the free throw line. Dara Taylor chipped in 17 points, going 6-for-11 from the field. She also added four assists and two steals.
SCOUTING PURDUE: The Boilers are ranked 20th in this week's USA Today Coaches' Pol and 21st in the Associated Press Poll with a 10-4 overall record, but an 0-2 mark in conference play with losses to Ohio State and Northwestern. K.K. Houser leads the Purdue offense, averaging team-bests of 15.7 points and 5.2 assists per outing. She has connected on 31 shots from long range this season. Courtney Moses adds 14.6 points per game and has a team-high 33 triples, while Whitney Bays adds 10.8 points and leads the squad in rebounding at a 5.4 per game clip. April Wilson (8.9) and Liza Clemons (8.8) are also solid contributors for the Boilers.
ALL-TIME VERSUS THE BOILERS: The Lady Lions are 17-26 all-time against Purdue. PSU is 10-8 in games played in Happy Valley. Penn State has won three out of the last four meetings with the Boilers. The Lady Lions won the only game between the teams last season, a 69-61 decision in Happy Valley.
LAST TIME VERSUS PURDUE: The Lady Lions used a key 10-0 run in the final stages of the game to knock off the Boilermakers by a count of 69-61 on Feb. 4, 2013. Maggie Lucas led all Penn State scorers with 17 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals, while Alex Bentley added 13 points. Mia Nickson scored 11 points to go with four rebounds and three steals in the win. Talia East was strong off the bench for the Lady Lions, scoring nine points and grabbing six rebounds in just 12 minutes of action. Nikki Greene chipped in six points and nine rebounds, while Ariel Edwards added six first-half points and four second-half rebounds.
ARI'S DOUBLE VISION: Senior guard/forward Ariel Edwards posted her second career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds at Illinois on Jan. 9. She is the first Lady Lion with a 20 & 10 game since Nikki Greene had 23 points and 14 rebounds against Wisconsin on Jan. 17, 2013. Edwards' first double-double came against Iowa on Jan. 22, 2012 with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
RALLY AGAINST THE ILLINI: The Lady Lions rallied from a 12-point deficit in the first half to claim an 82-76 win at Illinois on Jan. 9. It was the first time that Penn State has rallied from 10 or more points down for the win since Jan. 27, 2013 when the Lions erased an 11-point second-half deficit for a 71-56 win over Ohio State.
WHITTED GREAT START TO B1G PLAY: Freshman guard/forward Peyton Whitted has turned in a career performance in each of her first two Big Ten games. In the win at Illinois, Whitted established career highs in both points (9) and rebounds (10) for the second-straight game. She was 2-for-3 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line against the Illini. In her Big Ten debut, Whitted was 4-for-6 from the field en route to a then-personal-best eight points and pulled in a then-career-high six rebounds at Iowa on Jan. 5.
The Lady Lions continue their homestand against Ohio State on Thursday. It's the annual Lady Lion Book Drive game and Dollar Dog Night. Fans that donate a new or gently used book and receive a $5 ticket. The game will also feature an Ariel Edwards Mini-Bobblehead giveaway (4th in series of 6 giveaways) while supplies last.
Lady Lion Basketball single-game and season tickets are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Single-game tickets are $15 and $12 for adults and seniors and $9 and $7 for youth (12 and younger). Season tickets are $99 for adults and $50 for youth (12 and under), this includes a Nittany Lion Kids Club Membership for 2013-14. New this year, the Lady Lions have introduced a Family Season Ticket package. For $200, fans will get two adult tickets and two youth tickets for the 2013-14 campaign. The PNC Flex Books are available again this year for $99. The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game.
The 2014 Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 as the Lady Lions take on Wisconsin in the Bryce Jordan Center at 1 p.m. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $260,000 to breast cancer causes. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C.
