Students Can Purchase Rutgers Football Tickets Monday

Penn State students have an opportunity to attend the Nittany Lions' Big Ten Conference opener at Rutgers on Saturday, Sept. 13. Students who want to attend clash can purchase a ticket at Gate B (northeast corner) of the Bryce Jordan Center beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8.

The Penn State-Rutgers game will kick at 8 p.m. and air on BTN, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com. The contest will be the opening game of the Big Ten's 119th season and the Scarlet Knights' first-ever Big Ten contest.

A limited number of student tickets will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis for the contest at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway. Each student will be permitted to purchase an $85 ticket and must present a valid Penn State ID+ Card to secure a ticket. Sales of all tickets will be done on a cash only basis. Credit cards and checks will not be accepted.

Students wanting to purchase tickets so that they may sit together at the Rutgers game will need to make their ticket purchase together at Gate B of the BJC on Monday morning. Students may arrive at the Jordan Center at 6 a.m. on Monday for the sale.

If student tickets remain after 8 a.m. on Monday, the sale will move from Gate B to the Athletic Ticket Office inside the BJC. Student tickets will not be available after 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 10.

Penn State students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for every away game the Monday prior to each contest this season.

Coach James Franklin's Nittany Lions (1-0) host Akron (1-0) on Saturday at 12 p.m. for their home opener before traveling to Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights (1-0) host Howard on Saturday. Starting this year, Penn State and Rutgers will play annually as Big Ten East Division rivals.

Penn State students can purchase a pair of tickets to the Akron game at a special price - up to two tickets for $40 each -- with their valid student ID. Students from all Penn State campuses and the World Campus are able to buy two tickets for the Akron game in advance at the Beaver Stadium ticket office (weekdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). This special student ticket offer also is available on gameday at the Beaver Stadium ticket office near Gate E starting four hours prior to kickoff.

The seats for this special student ticket offer will not be located in the 21,000-seat student section in Beaver Stadium.

Penn State football season, partial season (Akron, Ohio State, Maryland and Michigan State) and single game tickets are available. More than 6,000 new season tickets and 1,100 partial season and 55,000 single game tickets have been sold thus far for this season.
