ITA Preseason Doubles Rankings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Intercollege Tennis Association released their preseason rankings, officials announced Monday. The Penn State doubles team of Victoria Kisialeva (Toronto, Canada) and Kimberley-Ann Surin (Montreal, Canada) are ranked 47th to begin the season. Kisialeva (Baylor) and Surin (Arkansas) bring an ample amount of doubles experience to the squad as transfers, having a combined doubles record of 87-47.

"We are excited for Victoria and Kim to be recognized with a preseason ranking for their past doubles success. When Coach Fenwick and I look at our roster this year we see multiple doubles teams that can play at a high level. We are looking forward to this weekend to see where our team matches up in the Midland and U Penn tournaments!" said Head Women's Tennis Coach, Chris Cagle.

Five other Big Ten doubles teams cracked the ITA rankings as both Michigan and Ohio State have two doubles teams each ranked while Northwestern has the fifth and final ranked doubles team. The Big Ten Conference also boasts seven singles players ranked to begin the season with Ohio State and Michigan leading the way with three players each.

Penn State begins the fall season Friday, September 12 with both the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas, as well as the U Penn Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. Both are three day events culminating on Sunday, September 14. Follow the Nittany Lions on Facebook at Penn State Women's Tennis and on Twitter @pennstateWTEN.
