UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State women's tennis team is set to open their spring season on January 18th by taking on Tulane in Akron, Ohio. The match time is set for 9:00 a.m. This is the third all time meeting between Penn State and Tulane, with the last match coming in the fall of 2011.
Head Coach Chris Cagle is very excited for the start of the spring season and to see how his team matches up against tough competition.
"I feel like our team is in a good place and playing well," said Cagle. "I am excited to have the large majority of our team healthy. To get the experience of being back in dual match competition and kick off the spring is something we have been looking forward to a while."
Looking ahead, the Nittany Lions will be competing against 11 teams ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top 75. Penn State will host five of these matches at home, with four of these matches against Big Ten teams.
There will be no live scoring during this match, but the Penn State Women's Tennis social media accounts will be providing updates throughout the morning. "Like" Penn State on Facebook at Penn State Women's Tennis and on Twitter @pennstateWTEN.
