UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released their rankings for both singles and doubles for the first time since the preseason rankings were released on January 6. The doubles team of Victoria Kisialeva (Toronto, Canada) and Dasha Sapogova (Belarus, Minsk) earned the No. 34 ranking in doubles play. The pair has gone 4-1 so far at the first doubles position.
"We are happy for Dasha and Victoria to move into the ITA doubles rankings. They have played well so far and are becoming more and more comfortable as a team on the court," said head coach Chris Cagle.
"We know that we have a number of strong doubles teams and expect our doubles to be a strength all year. That being said, we will be tested starting this weekend with Northwestern so now is the time to keep working and getting better every day."
Penn State is set to take on No. 23 Northwestern this Saturday, February 14 in Evanston, Ill. The match time is set for 11:00 a.m. Northwestern has two of their three doubles teams ranked in the Top 60 as Alicia Barnett and Brooke Rischbieth are ranked No. 50 while Rischbieth and Alex Chatt are ranked No. 58.
