UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The 10th-ranked Nittany Lion women's lacrosse team welcomes Bucknell for a Wednesday night tussle inside Holuba Hall. Opening draw is set for 7 p.m.
ADMISSION & PARKING
All regular-season Penn State lacrosse games are free to attend. Parking is available in Orange Lot F outside Holuba Hall, which is free to park after 5 p.m. on weekdays.
LAST TIME OUT: Penn State 15, Lehigh 7 (Feb. 14)
The No. 10 Penn State women's lacrosse team opened the 2015 season with a resounding 15-7 victory over Lehigh at Holuba Hall on Saturday, Feb. 14. Sophomore Steph Lazo (Stevensville, Md.) had a career-high five goals.
Penn State (1-0) used a 12-2 run spanning the two halves. Sophomore Abby Smucker (Bel Air, Md.) contributed three goals to the cause and junior Emi Smith (Denver, Colo.) made 10 saves.
Six players scored goals for the Nittany Lions, five of whom found the back of the net multiple times. Lazo led all scorers with five goals, followed by Smucker who finished with three.
Seniors Tatum Coffey (Toms River, N.J.) and Kelly Lechner (Silver Spring, Md.) and junior Jenna Mosketti (Fallston, Md.) each scored twice in the season opener. Senior Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) added a goal.
SMITH NAMED BIG TEN CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Penn State goalie Emi Smith (Denver, Colo.) was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, Feb. 16.
Smith made 10 saves in a 15-7 victory over Lehigh on Saturday for the 10th-ranked Nittany Lions. Smith made six saves in the second half during Penn State's decisive 5-0 run to open the frame. The junior goalie also picked up a ground ball in the victory.
The award is the first for the Penn State program as it navigates through the inaugural Big Ten campaign. Smith shares the award with Rutgers netminder Candice Dandrige who also made 10 saves and allowed seven goals.
ABOUT THE BISON
Bucknell (1-1) enters Wednesday's game coming off a 12-8 loss at home to Manhattan. Four days earlier, the Bison defeated Wagner, 9-7. Reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week Emily Kookegey (7g, 1a) earned the award by posting a pair of four-point games against Wagner and Manhattan. She leads the team with eight points.
Kookegey's attack partner, Gretchen Richter, was named the league's rookie of the week for registering a hat trick vs. Wagner. Maddy Molinari is the only other Bison with three or more goals. In net, Elizabeth Duswalt has played every minute, stopping 16 shots while allowing 19 goals (.457 pct., 9.50 GAA).
THE PENN STATE-BUCKNELL SERIES
The Nittany Lions and Bison will meet for the 19th time Wednesday night with Penn State owning an 18-0 all-time record. The two teams have played every year since 2005, alternating between Penn State and Bucknell.

Penn State is one of six members in the inaugural season for Big Ten women's lacrosse. The Nittany Lions join storied programs such as Maryland and its 12 NCAA titles and Northwestern with its seven championships. When PSU's two NCAA crowns are factored in, the Big Ten is the winningest conference in women's lacrosse.
Joining PSU, Maryland and Northwestern are Ohio State, Rutgers and Michigan in the Big Ten fold. Each team will play the other five members of the conference once. The 2015 Big Ten Tournament is set for April 30-May 3 at Rutgers with all six teams participating.

Penn State heads outdoors for the first time this season for a 4 p.m. match on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Duquesne. The Nittany Lions return home for a highly-anticipated game with No. 7 Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 8 in Happy Valley. Opening draw is slated for 3 p.m.
