Nittany Lions Crack the ITA Rankings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings were released Tuesday and the Penn State women's tennis team is ranked No. 71. The Nittany Lions are coming off of a weekend sweep of then No. 47 Maryland and Rutgers. This is the first time Penn State has been in the rankings since February 18, 2014 when the Nittany Lions were ranked 65th. The blue and white have already faced ten teams currently ranked in the Top 75 on the season and will face two more this weekend.

"The team has been playing and competing at a high level for the past month," said head coach Chris Cagle. "We need to stay focused and continue to get better every day. Now is the time to work hard and prepare for a strong Indiana team on Friday."

The Nittany Lions will welcome in two Big Ten foes ranked in the Top 50. The 43rd ranked Hoosiers of Indiana come to University Park for a 4:00 p.m. match on Friday, March 27.
