UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's hockey team was represented by 22 student-athletes on the College Hockey America (CHA) All-Academic Team, announced recently by the league. The Nittany Lions had the most honorees of any school in the conference and was one of just two to have more than 20 selections.
"I am incredibly proud of this program for leading the CHA in All-Academic honors this season," Josh Brandwene, Nittany Lion head coach, said. "It is a great demonstration of our student-athletes' commitment to excellence on and off the ice."
Bella Sutton, a rookie defenseman from Shoreview, Minnesota, highlighted the list of PSU award recipients as one of six CHA Student-Athletes of the Year. Sutton posted a cumulative grade-point average of 4.0 during her freshman season.
