Sept. 24, 2015 UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Ten members of the Penn State women's tennis team prepare to head out to the Hokie Invitational, which takes place this weekend, concluding on Sunday. The Hokie Invitational will be a multiple flight format tournament; head coach Chris Cagle anticipates at least four flights in single matches and multiple doubles matches against various opponents.
The ten Penn State team members to attend are, Katia Blik (Moscow, Russia), Hannah Kratky (Greenwich, Conn.), Devan McCluskey (Phoenix, Ariz.), Kelly Mengel (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Emily Rivers (Washington, D.C.), Taylor Shukow (Boca Raton, Fla.), Samantha Tutelman (New York, N.Y.), Katherine Whiteaway (Sawbridgeworth, England), Liyin Xu (Chengdu, China), and Jacqueline Zuhse (Boca Raton, Fla.).
The doubles team match ups for the weekend will be, Jacqueline Zuhse/Katherine Whiteaway, Samantha Tutelman/Taylor Shukow, Katia Blik/Devan McCluskey, Kelly Mengel/Liyin Xu, and Emily Rivers/Hannah Kratky. Two rounds of doubles will be played on the Virginia Teach campus on this Friday, following with one on Saturday, and one on Sunday.
Coach Cagle said, "We are excited to get back on the court this weekend to see how the work we put in this week translates into competition. It will be a good weekend to see where we stack up against the other competitors in our region."
Other teams participating in the tournament are Michigan State University, Virginia Tech, Towson University, Wofford College, and many others.
