Nittany Lions in the NFL -- Week Six

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A total of 25 Penn State football alumni are populating the active rosters of 18 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions annually are among the top 20 programs nationally in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com will provide updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.

Allen Robinson, Navorro Bowman and Michael Mauti had big games in Week 6. Robinson had six receptions for 86 yards and a touchdown against the Texans. He is tied for 14th in the NFL with 488 receiving yards. Bowman recorded 15 tackles against the Ravens. Bowman is second in the NFL with 59 tackles. Michael Mauti blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown in the first quarter against Atlanta. The TD helped set the momentum early for the Saints as New Orleans defeated the Falcons, 31-21. He was selected as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Cameron Wake was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week after recording four sacks and two forced fumbles for the Dolphins in the win over the Titans.

Adrian Amos, (2011-14), FS, Chicago Bears

Amos had four tackles against the Lions.

Deion Barnes, (2012-14), DE, New York Jets
Jets 34, Redskins 20
Barnes is on the practice squad for the Jets.

Brad Bars, (2011-14), DE, New York Giants

Bars is on the practice squad for the Giants.

Navorro Bowman, (2007-09), LB, San Francisco 49ers
49ers 25, Ravens 20
Bowman started at linebacker and recorded a game-high 15 tackles, including one TFL, against the Ravens. He also had one quarterback hit. Bowman is second in the NFL with 59 tackles, trailing Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson (71 tackles).

Jack Crawford, (2008-11), DT, Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys had a bye in Week 6.

Garry Gilliam, (2010-12), T, Seattle Seahawks
Panthers 27, Seahawks 23
Gilliam started at right tackle and played every offensive snap.

Robbie Gould, (2001-04), K, Chicago Bears
Lions 37, Bears 34 (OT)
Gould made all four field goal attempts, including a 38-yard kick, against the Lions. He also converted on both extra point attempts. Gould is tie for first in the NFL in field goal percentage (100%; 15-15) and second in total field goals made (15).

Tamba Hali, (2002-05), LB, Kansas City Chiefs
Vikings 16, Chiefs 10
Hali recorded a season-high five tackles, including one TFL, against the Vikings.

Jordan Hill, (2009-12), DT, Seattle Seahawks
Panthers 27, Seahawks 23
Hill was inactive against the Panthers due to a strained quadricep muscle. Hill is expected to be 2-4 weeks.

Hodges was inactive against the Ravens.

Mike Hull, (2011-13), LB, Miami Dolphins

Hull is on the practice squad for the Dolphins.

Jones started at defensive end and had two tackles against the Dolphins.

The Cowboys had a bye in Week 6.

Michael Mauti, (2008, 2010-12), LB, New Orleans Saints

Mauti blocked a punt and returned it four yards for a touchdown in the first quarter to help the Saints defeat the Falcons. Mauti also recorded two special teams tackles in the Saints win. He was selected as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Raiders had a bye in Week 6.

Norwood had one reception in the Broncos win over the Browns.

Jared Odrick, (2006-09), DE, Jacksonville Jaguars

Odrick started at defensive end and had a pass defense in the first half.

Paul Posluszny, (2003-06), LB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Posluszny was back after missing last week's game due to an injury. He recorded 10 tackles, including nine solo against the Texans.

Andrew Quarless, (2006-09), TE, Green Bay Packers
Packers 27, Chargers 20
Quarless was placed on injured reserved. The next time he is eligible to play is Thanksgiving night against the Bears. Quarless suffered a sprain knee in Week 3 against the Chiefs.

Troutman has been placed on the season-ending injured reserve after breaking his forearm in early August.

Urschel saw action against the 49ers.

Wake started a defensive end and had a season-high four sacks for minus-25 yards in the Dolphins' win over the Titans. Wake also had two forced fumbles to help defeat the Titans. For his efforts, Wake was selected as the AFC's Defensive Player of the Week.
