UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women's hockey team begins College Hockey America (CHA) action this weekend against Lindenwood at the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. (CDT) both Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31.

SCOUTING THE LIONS (2-4-0, 0-0-0)
This weekend also marks the first CHA series for the Lindenwood Lions.

After posting four-straight losses to open the year, Lindenwood rebounded with a pair of 4-2 wins over New Hampshire and No. 10 Northeastern.

Shara Jaseper leads the LU offense with seven goals on 30 shot attempts. Also, Sarah Bobrowski has dished out seven assists to the lead the team.

Nicole Hensley has played the majority of the season in net for LU. In 236:59 minutes of play, she has made 125 saves and allowed 14 goals.

Lindenwood has scored 14 of its 15 goals in the final two periods of play this year.

LAST SERIES RECAP
The Nittany Lions enter CHA play after being swept by UConn last weekend.

In the first-ever meeting between the two programs, UConn won the game Saturday night by a score of 1-0.

Then the following day, the Nittany Lions held on to a 2-1 lead heading into the final period of play, but the Huskies responded with three goals in the third period to capture the 4-3 victory.

Freshman Hannah England netted her first career goal as a Nittany Lion in Sunday's game early in the third period.

Also in Sunday's game, senior Shannon Yoxheimer dished out two assists and freshman Victoria Samuelsson tallied her team-leading fifth assist of the season.

IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Victoria Samuelsson is currently tied for sixth in the CHA in freshman scoring with five points (5a).

Also, Hannah England is tied for ninth in CHA freshman scoring with three points (1g, 2a).

NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND
The Nittany Lions have only allowed three goals in the first twenty minutes of play, which ranks best in the CHA.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE
Penn State has only allowed 18 goals on the year, which ties Syracuse for the conference lead, but Syracuse has played one less game.

The Nittany Lion penalty kill ranks second in the CHA with a mark of 87 percent (20-23).

PLAYING SMART
Penn State is currently averaging 6.0 penalty minutes per game, which leads the CHA.

BACK-TO-BACK
For the first time in program history, the Nittany Lions tallied back-to-back shutouts against a Division I team. Last weekend, Penn State swept Union by a score of 3-0 in each game.

ON SPECIAL TEAMS
In the NCAA, the Nittany Lions rank 18th in power play conversion (15.79%) and they rank 10th in penalty kill percentage (87.00%).

FIVE OUT OF SIX AIN'T BAD
Laura Bowman enters the series against Lindenwood having tallied a point in five of the last six games.

SUTTON EXCELS ON THE POWER PLAY
Bella Sutton tallied her sixth career power play goal against No. 7/8 Boston University. The sophomore is tied for third all-time at Penn State in power play goals.

ALL-TIME SAVES RECORD
Celine Whitlinger is six saves shy of setting the Penn State women's hockey all-time saves record. Nicole Paniccia holds the Nittany Lion all-time saves record with 1,801.

100 GAMES
In the season-opener against Minnesota, Jill Holdcroft became the seventh Nittany Lion to skate in 100 career games. Micayla Catanzariti is on pace to become the eighth Nittany Lion to eclipse the 100-game mark (98).

NITTANY LION ATTACK
Against No. 7/8 Boston University, the Nittany Lions scored five goals in a game for the tenth time in program history.

STARTING OUT FAST
On Oct. 9, 2015, against No. 7/8 BU, Laura Bowman scored 43 seconds into the game, which is three seconds shy of tying the program record for the fastest goal to start a game. The record, held by Bowman, was set on Oct. 26, 2013, against New Hampshire.

WEEKLY HONORS
For the seventh time in her career, senior Celine Whitlinger received the College Hockey America Goaltender of the Week award. Whitlinger tallied 41 saves against the top-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers.

For her performance against the Union Dutchwomen, Victoria Samuelsson was named the CHA Rookie of the Week. In the series, Samuelsson dished out two assists Saturday night and added one more in Sunday's game.

NCAA RANKINGS
Heading into the Lindenwood series, Celine Whitlinger is fourth in save percentage (.954) and ranks eighth in goals against average (1.26).

Among the nation's leaders in goals, Laura Bowman is tied for 25th (four).

PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
The Penn State women's hockey team has been picked fourth in the College Hockey America (CHA) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office Sept. 21. The Nittany Lions received 12 points in the poll, four points shy of RIT.

NEXT TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions return home for the final time in 2015. Next weekend, Penn State hosts Mercyhurst for a two-game series. Puck drop is set for Friday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m.
