Aug. 8, 2016

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.– The Penn State women's tennis team has announced the fall portion of its 2016-17 season schedule. Six invitational tournaments dot the schedule in September, October and November.

Penn State begins action at the Midland Invitational on Sept. 16-18 in Midland, Texas. The squad then heads to Philadelphia from Sept. 30 through October 2 for the Penn Invitational at the University of Pennsylvania.

Head coach Chris Cagle's squad takes part in the ITA Regional tournament beginning on Friday, October 14, in Norfolk, Va. Penn State continues action in Virginia at the Hokie Invite at Virginia Tech on Oct. 28-30. Penn State closes out the fall portion of its season with a split squad weekend. Part of Cagle's team will head to Chapel Hill, N.C., for the Kitty Harrison Invitational and part will trek to Hanover, N.H., for the Big Green Invitational at Dartmouth. Both tournaments run Nov. 4-6.

"We are excited to release the fall portion of our 2016-17 schedule," Cagle said. "The fall is utilized as a time to compete and improve for our program. We have continued our involvement in some familiar high quality tournaments this fall while adding the Big Green Invitational at Dartmouth to our schedule. We are looking forward to testing our team this fall to prepare us for the spring 2017 dual match season."
