NFHCA Poll

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -
Sporting a 5-0 record for the first time since 2002, Penn State field hockey checked in at No. 4 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) poll released Tuesday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions, who are one of six teams in the nation with an unblemished record (Boston University, UConn, Duke, Louisville, Syracuse), look to improve to 6-0 tonight versus the Bucknell Bison for the third time in program history and the first time since 2002 when the Lions started 7-0.

The first three teams remained unchanged as defending NCAA champion Syracuse nabbed the top spot with 31 first-place votes over No. 2 Duke and No. 3 North Carolina who received two and six first-place votes, respectively.

Penn State (5-0) received the second-most first-place votes in the poll collecting seven of the 46 total votes to move up a spot to No. 4.

Penn State host 2-2 Bucknell University to University Park and Field Hockey Complex tonight at 7 p.m. for a matchup of in-state squads.

Admission is free for all fans at Penn State Field Hockey Complex during the regular season.
