NEW ORLEANS, LA
- Coming off an impressive third-place finish at the 2016 Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, MN, the Penn State women's cross country team moved up two spots to No. 11 in this week's rankings, according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) week three poll released Tuesday afternoon.

It was Jillian Hunsberger leading the way for the Nittany Lions at the Griak Invite Saturday afternoon posting a ninth-place individual finish while helping her team defeat nationally ranked teams including No. 6 Boise State, No. 10 Michigan, No. 17 Iowa State and No. 20 San Francisco.

Penn State remained No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region, leading Georgetown, Penn, Villanova and Princeton who round out the top-five.

The Penn State women's cross country team is also ranked No. 11 in the Saucony Flo50 Women's Team XC Rankings.

Penn State will hit the course next on Oct. 14 when the Nittany Lions host the Penn State Open at the Blue & White Course in University Park.
