UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Big Ten Network has finalized its national broadcast schedule for wrestling and the Penn State Nittany Lions will be featured in four national telecasts by the BTN. Penn State's three `on hold' dates vs. Rutgers, Iowa and Ohio State have been slotted and the Nittany Lions' BJC Dual with Lehigh has been added to the national slate.
In order to accommodate the live BTN broadcast, Penn State's Dec. 4 dual vs. Lehigh in the Bryce Jordan Center will now begin at 12 noon. The dual was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. Penn State, which had three Big Ten match-ups listed as TBA, now knows the date and times for those duals. The Nittany Lions will host Rutgers on Friday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. in Rec Hall. The team visits Iowa the next weekend, on Friday, Jan. 20, at 9 p.m. (Eastern)/8 p.m. (Central). The Lions visit Ohio State on Friday, Feb. 3, at 6 p.m. in their fourth and final BTN appearance.
The public can purchase BJC Dual Tickets by visiting www.gopsusports.com, calling 1-800-NITTANY or stopping by the BJC Ticket Office from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fans can purchase SROs to any Rec Hall dual by calling 1-800-NITTANY based on availability, on a first come, first serve basis.
Penn State has won five of the last six NCAA National Championships and five of the last six Big Ten titles. Head coach Cael Sanderson's squad opens up the 2016-17 season at Army on Friday, Nov. 11, in a 7 p.m. dual. The home opener is set for Sunday, Nov. 13, when the Stanford Cardinal invades Rec Hall for a 2 p.m. match-up.
