UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; October 13, 2016 ââ'¬" The Penn State women's tennis team is set to travel to the ITA Regionals, which begin on Friday, October 14 in Norfolk, Va.
The tournament will run from Friday, October 14 till Sunday, October 16. The seven Nittany Lions heading to Virginia are Katia Blik (Moscow, Russia), Devan McCluskey (Phoenix, Ariz.), Jacqueline Zuhse (Boca Raton, Florida), Dasha Sapogova (Belarus, Minsk), Taylor Shukow (Boca Raton, Florida), Samantha Smith (Cary, N.C.) and Shannon Hanley (Kensington, Md.).
Cagle has announced his doubles pairs for the weekend: Shukow/Sapogova, Smith/Hanley and McCluskey, Blik.
"Regionals is always an important tournament for us," said head coach Chris Cagle. "I am looking forward to seeing our team compete hard and utilize the individual thoughts we have been working on in practices and individual workouts. I feel like we are continuing to improve which is good to see."
After the ITA Regionals conclude, the Nittany Lions will return home to University Park for two weeks of practice before traveling to Blacksburg, Va., for the Hokie Invite, which runs from October 28-30.
