Baseball Home Opening Series Canceled

March 14, 2017

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State baseball's home opening series, scheduled for Thursday and Friday evening in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, has been canceled due to inclement weather, head coach Rob Cooper announced Tuesday.

Anyone with a ticket to Thursday or Friday's game can redeem their voucher for a future home baseball contest of their choice.

The Saturday and Sunday games to be played at Delaware remain as scheduled for now, but with Newark, Delaware, also receiving winter weather, further schedule changes are possible. Visit GoPSUsports.com and follow @PennStateBASE for further updates.

The cancelations mark the first at home for Penn State since 2015.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a 4-3 record during their week in California, with series wins over both Pacific and Sacramento State. It marks Penn State's first winning spring break trip since 2011, and its six wins overall are the most in the first 14 games since 2011. The squad is scheduled to take on Delaware in a four-game home-and-home series starting Thursday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

Season, flex and single-game ticket options for the 2017 Penn State baseball season in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park are now on sale by clicking here or by calling the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park ticket office at 814-272-1711.
