UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State hosted James Madison Tuesday afternoon at Field Hockey Complex in an exhibition match, hitting the field for the first time in 2017.
"It was great to have James Madison come up and give us a game today," said Head Coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss.
"It was very competitive from start to finish, I thought that they did a good job of putting us under pressure and we have to do a better job of handling that pressure especially very early in the game. I thought we ended up coming back together and getting a little more composure. Ball speed needs to be better, but I thought the goalkeeping and scoring were pretty good but there are so many things that of course we know we need to improve upon. Stretching the field, team attack, team defense, but overall it was fun to get back out there and play against someone else," Morett-Curtiss continued.
Penn State battled James Madison in an exhibition match that featured a 70-minute regulation a 10 minute overtime period and a shootout session.
Penn State will head to Syracuse, NY for an exhibition game against Syracuse on Aug. 19 at 2 p.m.
