University Park, PA- The Penn State women's tennis team continues its fall slate this weekend with the Seahawk National Invitational hosted by UNCW. Action will begin this Friday September 29 and continue through Sunday October 1.
There will be eight Nittany Lions going to the tournament. They include Bennett Dunn (Orlando, Fla.), Shannon Hanley (Kensington, Md.), Ines Milosevic (Burlington, Ontario), Gabby O'Gorman (Gunnedah, N.S. Wales, Australia), Taylor Shukow (Boca Raton, Florida), Samantha Smith (Cary, N.C.), Frederikke Svarre (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Hanna Wikberg (Stockholm, Sweden).
"It will be nice to get a large portion of our team on the trip to UNCW this weekend. We will see a number of familiar opponents so it will be a good test to see where we are at this point in the fall," said head coach Chris Cagle. "The format of the tournament allows us to change lineups and doubles teams each day so we will look at a number of combinations throughout the weekend. My expectations are to see us play and compete at a high level this weekend."
After the Seahawk National Invitational concludes, the team will travel to Blacksburg, Va., for the ITA Regionals which go from Friday October 13 to Tuesday October 17.
