NITTANY LIONS RETURN TO JEFFREY FIELD
The Penn State men's soccer team will play its fourth home match of the season Sunday, Oct. 1. The Nittany Lions look for their first Big Ten Conference victory as they welcome the Wolverines of the University of Michigan for a 1 p.m. contest at Jeffrey Field. The game will mark the second ranked opponent Penn State has played this season and the third that was at least receiving votes in the weekly coaches poll.

SERIES HISTORY WITH THE WOLVERINES
Penn State owns the 11-8-2 advantage over Michigan despite losing the last two meetings. Under head coach Bob Warming's tutelage, Penn State is 2-4-1 against the Wolverines but does hold the all-time advantage at Jeffrey Field with a 5-3-0 record. Warming is 1-2-0 at home against Michigan, most recently falling 2-0 Sept. 27, 2015 at Jeffrey Field.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
The Wolverines come into the fifth week of the season ranked at No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I national poll getting off to their best start since the 2009 season with a 5-3-2 overall record and a 2-1-1 record in the Big Ten Conference.
Michigan ranks fifth in the conference standings and No. 4 in the Big Ten in shots per game with 12.2. The Maize and Blue are led by Jack Hallahan who has three assists and three goals, while notching both a goal and an assist in the past two matches for the Wolverines. Offensively, Michigan has outscored its opponents 13-9 in its 10 matches with four players having at least two goals.
Andrew Verdi has been the only keeper between the pipes for the Wolverines this season, giving up nine goals for a 0.85 goals against average and a .750 save percentage.
LEVINE MAKES FIRST COLLEGIATE APPEARANCE
Redshirt-freshman Josh Levine made his first collegiate appearance against the Owls of Temple, standing between the pipes for the final 37 minutes of the match. Levine made one save and did not give up a goal in his first collegiate appearance.
BIG TEN TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD AT GRAND PARK
The Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament will take place at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, as announced by the Big Ten. The men's semifinals and championship game are set for Nov. 10 and 12. Last year, the Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament semifinals and championship game were played at the facility for the first time, with Maryland earning a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin in the final.
NEXT TIME OUT
After a five-day break, Penn State plays its second-straight home contest against a ranked team as it welcomes No. 1 Indiana to Jeffrey Field Saturday, Oct. 7. The match is set for 7 p.m. and will be featured on BTN Plus.
