UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.-- The Penn State women's tennis team will travel to the ITA Regionals, which begin Friday, October 13 in Blacksburg, Va. The tournament runs through Tuesday, October 17.

Seven Nittany Lions will travel to Blacksburg. They include, Gabby O'Gorman (Gunnedah, N.S. Wales, Australia), Hanna Wikberg (Stockholm, Sweden), Ines Milosevic (Burlington, Ontario), Shannon Hanley (Kensington, Maryland), Samantha Smith (Cary, N.C.), Bennett Dunn (Orlando, Fla.) and Frederikke Svarre (Copenhagen, Denmark).

O'Gorman and Wikberg will start off competing in the singles qualifying draw, looking to advance to the main draw. Milosevic, Hanley and Smith have all qualified for the main draw.

The three doubles pairs that qualified for regionals will all be featured in the doubles main draw. They include the pairings of O'Gorman/Milosevic, Hanley/Dunn and Wikberg/Svarre.

"It will be good to see where our team is at as we go into our second tournament of the fall for most of the team. Regionals has always been a great tournament for us to test our team against strong competition," said head coach Chris Cagle. "We are a team that is getting better in many ways right now and I am looking forward to seeing the progress show in tournament play and for our players to challenge themselves in a competitive atmosphere. The expectations are for us to compete and play at a high level throughout the entire tournament."

After ITA Regionals conclude, the team will be back for two weeks of practice before splitting up for the final tournament weekend of the season. The team will split between the Hokie Invitational and the Kitty Harrison Invitational, which both run from November 3-5.
