Penn State Women's BasketballPostgame Quotes vs. SienaNov. 10, 2017

Coquese Washington | Penn State Head Coach

Q: Coach, I know you talked about playing fast and you guys did that for certain spells, it especially worked a lot in the second and third quarter when you were scoring off the turnovers. Is there anything going into that?
CW: I think a lot of it is just our personnel. When you have a point guard like Amari [Carter] who is good at pushing the pace, creating shots for herself, and creating shots for her teammates. She did a great job of finding Jaida [Travascio-Green], finding some of our post players; it plays into our talent and how we want to play so, I think it starts with outstanding guard playing and these two really displayed that tonight.

Q: Coach, you mentioned your personnel in the previous question. You obviously didn't have Teniya [Page] tonight, how did that change things? I know Siyeh [Frazier] was in there at point guard when Amari [Carter] was out in foul trouble. What goes into that and where do you go personnel wise without Teniya?
CW: The good thing is we had plenty of time to practice without Teniya [Page.] We kind of have our rotations and we have Sarah McMurtry who can play a little backup point guard, and Siyeh [Frazier] can play a little backup point guard. We've been practicing without her so we're used to not having her on the court.

Jaida Travascio-Green | G | Sophomore

Q: You guys had a really big second quarter forcing a lot of turnovers. What went into your defense in that quarter, playing really well and forcing all of those turnovers?
JTG: We have worked all week on really flying around on defense, keeping our hands up and just pressuring the ball. In the second quarter, I think we really executed that well, and it showed because we did hold them in scoring in the second.
