UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Head coach Amanda Lehotak announced the signing of six student-athletes for the 2022 class Thursday, Nov. 9.

The incoming class includes: Chelsea Bisi (Latrobe, Pa.), Anna Deshaies (Kennett Square, Pa.), Allison Kurland (Burke, Va.), Kylee Lingenfelter (Punxsutawney, Pa.), Bailey Parshall (Belle Vernon, Pa.) and Claire Swedberg (Lake Villa, Illinois).

Lehotak has signed four in-state student-athletes to the class, while Kurland hails from Virginia and Swedberg comes from Illinois. The class includes: three infielders (Bisi, Deshaies and Swedberg), two pitchers (Lingenfelter and Parshall) and one catcher (Kurland).

Bisi makes the short trip to Happy Valley from Latrobe, Pennsylvania where she has played for three seasons at Derry Area High School. The infielder had a breakout freshman season as she garnered team MVP, offensive MVP and first team all-section honors. In her sophomore and junior seasons, she notched team MVP and offensive MVP as well as first team all-section and first team all-state. Bisi was also a member of the Tribune Review Terrific 10 Softball All-Stars for three seasons, a Tribune Review Player of the Week honoree and a USA Today Player of the Week selection.

Deshaies is the second in-state student-athlete in the incoming class, coming from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and has played three years at Unionville High School. The 5-10 middle infielder earned most improved as a freshman before going on to notch all-conference honors in her sophomore and junior campaigns and was an all-area selection as a junior.

Kurland makes the trip north to Pennsylvania after playing her high school career at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke, Virginia. The catcher earned second team all-conference in her freshman season before notching first team all-conference honors in her sophomore and junior years with the Bruins. Kurland also garnered first team all-region honors twice and was a second team all-state honoree in her junior campaign. The 5-9 left-handed hitter helped her team to a Patriot Conference Championship in her first season.

Lingenfelter is the third in-state commit from the incoming class, hailing from Punxsutawney Area High School. The right-handed pitcher garnered Northern Allegany League Player of the Year and Central Pennsylvania League All-Star Team in both her sophomore and junior seasons with the Lady Chucks. Last season, Lingenfelter notched team MVP honors, was the D-9 Co-Pitcher of the Year, first team all-state and capped off the season being named a Gatorade Player of the Year Nominee. In the circle, Lingenfelter has helped her team to three-straight District 9 Championships and will seek her fourth in the 2018 season.

Parshall is the final in-state signee of Lehotak's 2022 class, coming to Penn State after a prep career at Belle Vernon High School. The left-handed hurler was named Pittsburgh Tribune Review Softball Terrific 10, Greenburg Tribune Terrific 10, first team all-section, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Area Diamond Team, South Softball All-Star Team, Herald Standard Big School Player of the Year, Herald Standard All-Area First Team, MSA Sports Player of the Year, Diamond Dolls All-Star Team and first team all-state in her freshman season. Parshall followed up in her sophomore season, earning Tribune Review Softball Terrific 10, first team all-section, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Area Team and first team all-state. In her junior season Parshall garnered Player of the Year honors from the Pennsylvania Coaches Association, the Pennsylvania High School Softball Association, Herald Standard, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and Mon Valley Independent, while also notching MSA Sports Co-Player of the Year honors and MSA Diamond Dolls Team. Parshall capped off the season with an Observer Reporter All-District team and all-section first team honors, while also garnering WPIAL Championship Player of the Game by MSA/AUL Bat Company. In her three seasons with Belle Vernon, Parshall has led it to two sectional and WPIAL Championships, while breaking three school records with 623 strikeouts, 26 shutouts and 56 wins and is a two-time WPIAL strikeout leader.

Swedberg is a three-year letter winner at Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Illinois. The middle infielder notched all-conference honors in her sophomore season before leading her team with a .476 batting average, earning her all-conference and all-state honors as a junior. Swedberg has helped her team to backs-to-back conference and regional championships and notched a section championship in the 2017 campaign. Finally, she garnered all-academic team honors for two years.
